April will always hold a special place in my heart as I had the incredible opportunity to capture Megan and Brooks’ wedding at the stunning Borgo Bastia Creti in Umbertide, Italy. Nestled atop a steep hill, this enchanting venue surrounded by a serene olive grove was the perfect backdrop for their love story. Their special day was full of beauty, emotion, and a touch of Tuscan charm.
As I drove up the winding road to Borgo Bastia Creti, the charm of the Italian countryside unfolded before my lens. The venue, a historic estate with breathtaking views, instantly captivated me. I arrived at the bridal suite where Megan and her bridesmaids were getting ready. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation, with sunlight streaming through the windows as Megan’s hair and makeup artist put the finishing touches on her look.
Megan took a quiet moment for herself, sitting by the window to write her vows. Her wedding dress, hanging gracefully nearby, shimmered softly in the sunlight, a preview of the elegance to come. I couldn’t resist capturing this intimate moment, knowing it would be one of the many special memories Megan and Brooks would cherish forever.
For Megan’s bridal portraits, I chose the olive grove that surrounds Borgo Bastia Creti. The soft green hues of the trees and the gentle April breeze created a dreamy atmosphere, making it the perfect setting for her to shine. The ceremony was held outdoors, under the warm Italian sun. As Megan and Brooks exchanged their vows, there wasn’t a dry eye among their guests. The love and emotion was in the air, making it one of the most heartfelt ceremonies I’ve ever had the honor of photographing. I wish you all could of been there to hear the vows!
Following the ceremony, the celebration moved to the Venue’s historic courtyard, where the dinner and reception were held. String lights hung above, casting a warm glow over the courtyard at sunset, making it feel like a scene straight out of a fairytale. The dinner was a true Italian feast, with truffle pasta and fine wine flowing as heartfelt speeches were shared around the table. The ambiance was intimate, joyful, and filled with laughter—a true celebration of love.
As the dinner came to a close, espresso shots were served, giving everyone a little boost before heading to cake cutting and the dance floor. The night continued with dancing under the stars, surrounded by tables adorned with Italian desserts. They were so delicious and I still dream of eating them again! Megan and Brooks’ first dance was a magical moment, and it was clear that their love story was just beginning. The joy and energy on the dance floor were contagious as the wedding party surrounded the couple, and I couldn’t help but smile as I captured every twirl, laugh, and sweet moment.
